As you all know, I like to incorporate music into my blog posts as much as possible. With the upcoming premiere of American Horror Story only 2 days away (nearly pee’d my pants in excitement just typing that), there is going to be a whole lot more music on the way (Melanie Martinez’s Carousel comes to mind). First, though, I had to write a post about Spotify because this company has literally changed the game!
Now, if you’re not already familiar with Spotify, then you need to get your butt over to their website immediately and download the app @ www.spotify.com. I can assure you it will change your life. Spotify offers an insane amount of tracks. In fact, just to give you an example, I decided to look up the band Live, one of my favorite bands from the ’90’s. BAM…Spotify had every album. I was blown away. Oh, and did I also mention that it’s FREE! Who doesn’t like free!!!!?????
Even better, the sharing feature! My god, I LOVE IT! If you’re playing a track that you want to share with the world, all you have to do is click Share and you can even pick which social media accounts to share on (Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr, and hopefully more to come).
So, what are you waiting for? If you’re like me, then music probably makes you lose control (shout out to Missy Elliot). And if that is the case, then you NEED Spotify.
Now, go check out my new favorite song that I found on Spotify…it’s absolutely beautiful!!! The band is Fences, Macklemore makes an appearance and the lyrics are gold. Enjoy and I apologize in advance if you end up playing this 20X in a row.
I just recently saw this Shark Week ad pop up on TV and literally was laughing out loud! What a brilliant advertisement from Discovery Channel! It also got me thinking about some of the better advertisements that I’ve seen in my day! To tell you the truth, there are A LOT of bad ones which always makes me wonder how these marketing people ended up with these jobs in the first place! But there are some hidden gems out there…. some recent and some not so recent and I’m going to post a few for everyone’s enjoyment! But first, check out the Shark Week clip below, it’s a classic!!!
A friend of mine posted this great article on community management in the video game industry! Great read, check it out! 😀
As what we understand a video game to be changes and evolves, so do the supportive teams and infrastructures we need to build around them. Games are no longer a singular experience and players demand much more interaction and sense of involvement, especially when the game itself is acting as a kind of community as in the case of MMO’s and other online games.
Online communities themselves have been around since the beginning of the internet. Being the social creatures we are humans pretty quickly adapted to the use of new technology for social interaction such as bulletin boards, chat rooms and forums. Social sites such as Facebook are now the biggest on the web with users numbering in the billions. People will always want to connect and interact with others and generally with those of a common interest, which more than likely could be your game.
So what is…
